What are you doing to observe Lent this year?

I gave something up.
I'm doing something positive -- prayer or charity.
Both of the above.
Nothing.
Is it Lent already? I just got the Christmas decorations put away.

He has risen

The angel spoke and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen even as He said."

"Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!" The day the Lord has made is the day of wonder. These holy women, privileged witnesses of the Lord’s Resurrection brought the news to Peter and John. All are witnesses of the most extraordinary event in history, the empty tomb and then the encounter with the Risen One.

On Easter, the Church exhorts us to joy.
This is the day Christ has risen. Easter is a day of great exultation. Mary rejoices after being associated on Calvary with the redeeming cross of her Son.

Together with the Mother of the Risen One, the whole Church gives thanks to God for the marvel of new life which Easter offers each year. Christ is the new life, the Risen One.

May the faith and joy of the women and other witnesses at the empty tomb and a host of believers for two millennia be yours this blessed Easter!
