Cheers to 80 Years of Catholic Charities in Shiawassee and Genesee Counties

Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties raised $135,000 at its Cheers to 80 Years Celebration and Chair-ity Event on Sept. 16. Participants enjoyed hors d’oeuvres by Chef Besh of Cameo Event Planners during a stroll down memory lane that told the story of the continued growth in the many services provided to people in the two counties. Father Earl Sheridan founded the Catholic Social Services Bureau with three Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in 1941. Attendees also participated in a silent auction and the traditional live auction of chairs decorated by area artists and groups.
